Undeserved Grace - a Christian Network

Welcome to Undeserved Grace - a Christian Network

I decided to go on a quest to go to as many Christian web sites to look at all of the “Christian accessories” that are sold today. Here are a few of my findings…

Tee shirts sold on popular Christian web sites...

This first one without mention is just bad Theology. Typical pop church. But in addition to that what in the world does Fender have to do with Jesus Christ?

Candy bars for Jesus. Now one might laugh at seeing this but I mean really do we have to sell Jesus with candy?

Another example of bad Theology. Easy... Where in Scripture does it say that Christians have an easy life?

Now for another example... what in the world does Elvis have to do with Christianity?

Now the big questions...

So whats the limit?
Does any of this bring glory to our Holy God?
Do we really think that the Gospel is so weak that we have to sell it with pop culture?
Do we really think we have to market Christianity to gain converts?

These are serious questions to ponder. This is something that I have personally been convicted of more and more.

What are your thoughts?

Obviously, NONE of this "stuff" is worthy of our Holy Father. Even the crosses people wear on a chain around their neck. I mean, I'm not saying that is wrong necessarily, but if you do--you are advertising to people (in a totally wrong fashion) that YOU are a Christian. If you've ever seen one of those court TV shows (Judge Judy, People's Court, etc.) then you see a LOT of people with these great shiny crosses worn outside the blouse or shirt. And they are usually the one's caught in the biggest lies...
These pictures purported to be of our Lord are sickening and not at all biblical. A blond, blue-eyed baby w/ a pagan "halo" around his head, or the long hair--anybody know what hairstyle he wore? Because unless He had taken a Nazarite vow--I would think he would have worn it short as Paul talked about in the epistle.
The only way to "advertise" Christianity should be in your daily witness--be it your words or your deeds.
So, yeah, Sara, these are serious things to ponder--these pictures all are a witness of something--but it's not something godly.
Muslims rage when someone tries to "draw" Mohammed--why is it that "Christians" finance something as stupid as the above items--they're ALL worldly and materialistic. And the "Easy" button such an obvious lie...
What I really don't get is that ALL of these items are likely also sold at inflated prices--this money could be used for missionaries and Bibles and literature that could actually get the WORD out.
A very thought-provoking quest you went on--glad you did!
